               Animal Cruelty according to human society is a range of behaviors harmful to animals such as killing animals maliciously and neglect of care to them.According to PedPedia 65% of abused animals especially dogs, every year more than 10 million animals die from abuse in the US alone. On average, 250,000 animals every year are victims of animal hoarding. Statistics on animal abuse reveal that there are over 10,000 puppy mills in the United States. The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a registered non-profit organization which is dedicated to the protection and the promotion of humane treatment of all animals. It currently houses over 300 cats and dogs rescued from cruelty or neglect. Here, these animals are rehabilitated in the hope of finding them new homes and a second chance at a good life. PAWS has monitored about 100 cases of animal cruelty in the country, many of which are ignored due to the lack of stiff penalties against animal abuse. PAWS executive director Anna Cabrera told reporters at the House of Representatives that her organization receives daily an average of 40 calls on cases of animal abuse.
